You can always try Joomla locally on your pc. https://wampserver.aviatechno.net/ will create a localhost on your PC/Laptop
Get a pen and paper
Write down the categories you will need (think cabinets in a room and draws in those cabinets).
Write down the title of Articles (associate them to the categories by drawing lines or listing under the category)
Write down what your menu structure will be.
Install two instances of Joomla, one with sample data and one without. The one with sample data use to test Extensions ... in the one without sample data, create your Categories, Articles and menus/menu items.
